DCT is ‘Alive @ 75’, despite COVID-19 pandemic

The Dominican College of Tarlac celebrates its 75th Founding Anniversary despite the country on coronavirus pandemic through virtual means from February through December 2021.

With the theme, “Alive @ 75 Lingkod Dominikano: Pilipino, Kristiyano, Tarlaqueño, Capaseño”, the celebration commenced its grand activities kick-off week from February 8 to February 13.

The festivity started through the Eucharistic celebration on February 8 which was presided by the Bishop of Tarlac, his Excellency, Most Rev. Enrique V. Macaraeg, D.D., with Tarlac Diocesan Schools Association (TDSA) Superintendent Rev. Fr. Mario M. Elias; DCT Chaplain Rev. Fr. Joselito S. Herrera, and several alumni-priests of SNA, DS, DCT, as mass concelebrants. Some alumni, former school administrators, including the longest-serving administrator of DCT, Sr. Caridad S. Bayani, OP, and other retired teachers also graced the event.

Meanwhile, from February 9 – 11, the DCT student body participated in series of virtual contests which were organized throughout the academic departments from elementary to college. The contests were: coloring contest, spelling contest, English and Mathematics Quiz Bee (for elementary only); essay writing, pagsulat ng sanaysay, poster making, slogan making, and DCT Quiz Bee (for elementary to college).

The kick-off week culminated through a grand motorcade attended by DCT administration, faculty, and staff, with some alumni batches, with the support of agencies such as Philippine National Police – Capas and Kabalikat Civicom. The motorcade roamed around the vicinity of Capas municipal town.

“As we continue this mission of sowing the seeds of the unseen future of the young generation entrusted to us; may faith, hope, and love be our guiding star in molding their minds, touching their hearts, and transforming their lives, thus we attain our ultimate goal to produce authentic servant-leaders of our country and of our Church,” said Executive Vice President Sr. Marisor J. Fabros, OP.

Furthermore, other activities will be highlighted every month as the continuance of the foundation anniversary until its culmination on December 2021.
