With the theme, “MOVIES: Moving Onwards to the Vision and Illustrious Epitome of St. Dominic,” the Dominican College of Tarlac (DCT) celebrated its annual feast day of St. Dominic at the school quadrangle last August 8.
“It is a tradition to come up with a celebration during August 8, feast day of our patron saint, to remember the good deeds and works about St. Dominic through a school program, coupled with an outreach program,” Mrs. Criselda Vitug-Ragel, St. Dominic class adviser, said during an interview.
The school collected donations from the elementary department up to the college department to raise funds for the Outreach Program.
“The outreach program started with the Dominics batch 2006-2007, it is our motivation in staging such an event. We invite neighboring schools to thank them for continuously patronizing the Dominican College of Tarlac because most of the high school students came from public schools,” she said.
Schools that were invited are: Capas East Central School, Gabaldon Elementary School, Susuba Elementary School, Juan Navarro Elementary School, A.D. Jimenez Elementary School, Lawy High School, Sta. Lucia High School, and Cristo Rey High School.
“The Dominics this year did a great job, they really put all their efforts, they all worked hard for it, and it was a good start,” Mrs. Ragel stated.
She added that she always tell them that it is their “Baptism of Fire,” because we expect highly from them; first with their academic excellence, leadership, and the idea that they are the role models of the Junior High School.
“Based from the feedbacks of the audiences, it was a successful performance, superb even,” she noted.
